It isn’t only Republicans who told the pollsters that they expect Trump to win another term in the Oval Office. More than a third of Democrats — 35% — said they expected him to be re-elected next year. Eighty-five percent of Republicans and 51% of independents said the same.
The new survey can give Trump some comfort. Other recent polls are a different story, pointing to a nail-biter of a contest next year.
Trump leads Democratic White House hopeful Elizabeth Warren by an average of just two points in six battleground states, according to a New York Times Upshot and Siena College survey released Monday. Trump trails Joe Biden in those same key states by two points, and the president is about even with Bernie Sanders, the poll also found.
