Authorities are investigating the death of a person whose body was found near a San Francisco International Airport parking garage Saturday, airport officials said.

Few details were available on Saturday, but airport duty manager Russell Mackey told The Chronicle that the body was found near International Garage G at the intersection of North Link and North McDonnell Road. Airport officials were alerted at about 1:15 p.m.

The intersection is near the SFO BART Station. The cause and circumstances of the person’s death were undetermined on Saturday, said airport spokesperson Doug Yakel. He described the deceased as male, but no age range was provided.

San Mateo County officials are investigating, Yakel said. It was not immediately clear which law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation.

“This death was not related to the airport, and there is no impact to operations,” Mackey said.
